During the three-day event, PT PLN deployed personnel and equipment to ensure the success of the festival, which had been on hiatus for two years.
PLN’s team was prepared to support the event with 24 personnel and a 100 kVA Uninterruptible Power System (UPS)
To ensure the success of the international event, PLN temporarily postponed maintenance activities, especially in the distribution network.
The distribution network maintenance was scheduled and completed before the event, so there would be no maintenance activities during the festival, unless there was an urgent need for repairs that required work to be done while the power was still on.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Bali, I Wayan Udayana, stated that the electricity subsystem in Bali is currently in a safe condition and even has a surplus.
The Bali subsystem has a power capacity of 1,555 megawatts (MW) and the highest peak load is 903.7 MW leaving a reserve margin or power reserve of 42 percent
Udayana emphasized that PLN’s services have been proven and reliable, so the community should not hesitate to seek assistance from PLN for any local, national, or international events in Bali.
PLN has supported various types of events in Bali, both local and international, which should reassure the public to contact PLN whenever they need electricity support.
Bali is once again trusted to host various events, and therefore, the public is expected to maintain order by being cautious and keeping a safe distance from electrical networks when flying kites or setting up “penjor” decorations during the upcoming Galungan and Kuningan celebrations.
If any potential hazards are observed, they should be reported through the PLN Mobile application or the 123 contact center.
